Tikal grew into an important ceremonial, cultural, and commercial centre over the centuries. Most of the city's huge temples were constructed during the eighth century AD when Tikal became the greatest city in the Maya world with a population of perhaps 100,000.

Tikal was the capital of a conquest state that became one of the most powerful kingdoms of the ancient Maya. Though monumental architecture at the site dates back as far as the 4th century BC, Tikal reached its apogee during the Classic Period ca. 200 to 900 AD. During this time, the City dominated much of the Maya region politically, economically, and militarily, while interacting with areas throughout Mesoamerica such as the great metropolis of Teotihuacan in the distant Valley of Mexico. There is evidence that Tikal was conquered by Teotihuacan in the 4th century AD. Following the end of the Late Classic Period, no new major monuments were built at Tikal and there is evidence that elite palaces were burned. These events were coupled with a gradual population decline, culminating with the site’s abandonment by the end of the 10th century.

With the Discovery of the tombs of many of the rulers, We know that Tikal is known to have a long list of Dynastic Rulers. A Series of studies of their monuments, temples and palaces were carried out.

Belize Tikal Tours is offered STRICTLY to Overnight Visitors to Belize Whether as a Day Tour or as an Overnight Tour.

Tikal Can Be enjoyed either as a DAY TOUR or as an Overnight excursion.  Feel free to make your inquiry about our overnight excursion and our Day tour.

If You should Choose an Overnight Trip To Tikal and the  pick up point is any where in Belize City, Whether it is at The International Airport, Municipal airstrip in Belize City, at the water taxi in Belize City or at Your Hotel Then please note that Getting to Tikal From Belize City is about 4 hours give and take.  If you decide to visit Tikal as an overnight Excursion, Our ideal Time to enter Tikal  National park would be after 3 30 pm. You have the possibility of enjoying an evening tour and have the hopes of seeing the Sunset. Overnight Excursion will require us to stay at Tikal National park for the night or at Isla las Flores. This will also give us the option also to do an Early Morning Sunrise Tour too in the hopes of seeing the sun rise above the canopy of the first or enjoy the way how the Forest awakens with the call of the wild.  For more Info, please make your inquiry with us.

 

If You Should Choose a Day Tour to Tikal From Belize, please make your inquiry with us as to how you can maximise your time  so that you can have    an early day start for your Belize Tikal Tour.  If you decide to do a day tour, the best time of Arrival  at Tikal National Park would be between 8:30am to 9 am to beat the surging heat of the day.

 

Border crossing may vary depending on how busy the border is with foreigners traveling back and forth and filling up the proper paper works.

A Border Management fee of 37.50 Bz on the Belize side is charge. The quotation I provide you via private email already includes all expenses.    Once You have cross onto the Guatemalan Side, a Stamp Fees  is also charge.  This is also included in the prize I quote you

Once we have cleared the Belize Immigration, We will board a new Transport to Tikal. Our New Driver, will help facilitate an easy border crossing at the Guatemalan side. We will then be ready for our Amazing Adventure at Tikal. ( The land of the Ewoks: according to Star Wars the Movie. But in reality, it’s the home of the Mayas )

An Entrance fees of 150 Quetzales is charged per person. It will be included in the prize I have quoted you via private Email.  Also, As per Rule, You will be required to have a Guatemalan License Tour guide to conduct the tour. His Tour guide Service, will also be included on the price.  But, you may want to consider tipping our guide.

The Exchange rate is approximately 3.50 quetzales to 1 Belize Dollars. 7.20 q for 1 u.s Dollars. 1 U.s Dollars to 2 Belize Dollars. Please note the exchange rate may vary from time to time.
Your transportation is a spacious van that seats 14 passenger, fully air conditioned and awaiting your departure.
